What is it?
Preferred Number allows you to set a phone number that you would like to use when dialing a specific contact. You can choose from a list of numbers that are tied to that contact, or you can enter your own number to try. The application will attempt to validate the phone number during the update process. When selecting a number from the list of available numbers, the reachability rating of High, Medium, Low, Poor or Unknown will be displayed.
How do I set the preferred number for a specific contact?

Call Lists: From the a call list, click on the icon highlighted with the orange box below.

In the popup, select a number from the list (orange box), or enter your own number (green box). Additionally, select the reason you are using a different number. Based on this reason, the timeframe the number will be used will vary. The duration based on the reason you select are shown in the table below.

How do I know a preferred number is being called?
A preferred number will be designated with the icon below. It will be shown in call lists and dialer sessions.

How long is the preferred number set?
| Preference Type | Duration |
| Contact Requested | Indefinitely, until changed. |
| Number is incorrect | 14 days from being set. |
| I want to try a different number | 7 days from being set. |
Validation
While a new phone number is entered, the application will attempt to validate the phone number type. NOTE: The lookup service cannot validate some Canadian and non-US phone numbers.
